Job summary

The Kroger Co. is seeking a customer-focused team member to provide exceptional service and maintain a clean, safe store environment.

You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while upholding the company’s Customer 1st strategy and core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. You will answer questions, stock and label merchandise, monitor quality and freshness, and help customers find products.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers and answer questions about products in the department and store.
• Gain knowledge of department products and suggest items to customers.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover items.
• Inform customers of dairy specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products they ordered.
• Recommend items to meet customer needs.
• Check product quality and date codes; take action as needed.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in ordering/shipping to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Follow food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Reinforce safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
• Notify management of accidents and risks, including theft or fraud.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts calmly.
• Maintain honesty and integrity around customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Assist customers including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
