Job description

Town Pump is looking for a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk to join our team. Town Pump is a growing company, with increasing opportunities for career growth.

As a Store Clerk team member, you will:

1. Provide excellent customer service, handle cash and perform accounting duties, stock, price, rotate, and display merchandise, maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store, ensure store safety and security, and assist with deli food sales and preparation.
2. Operate computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
3. Remember regular customers’ names and faces, answer and screen phone calls, monitor the store for security, detect shoplifters, and handle customer complaints.
4. Stock shelves and coolers, complete shift work accurately, maintain all areas of the store, perform vendor check-ins, follow protocol systems, and report any issues or policy violations to the store manager.
5. Maintain cleanliness of the parking lot, gas pumps, and store exterior, including snow removal, and complete other duties as assigned by management.
6. Keep the hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee, and fountain areas clean, stocked, and filled.
7. Perform deli duties in smaller locations as outlined in the deli job description.
