Goodwill of the Great Plains in Mitchell, SD is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations and management of a Goodwill retail store. You will perform cashier duties, handle donations, open/close the store, and complete related paperwork.

• High school graduate or GED preferred but not required.
• At least two years of prior retail sales experience, with previous managerial experience preferred.
• Must have reliable personal transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of personal vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Take full store responsibility in the store manager’s absence and direct personnel to ensure accurate sales transactions and proper processing of donated goods.
• Maintain store records in the absence of the store manager.
• Keep the store adequately stocked and displayed professionally.
• Provide high level customer service and price donated merchandise accurately.
• Train and evaluate new retail employees and support the store manager in meetings and disciplinary actions.
• Assist customers and donors in a timely and courteous manner and support cashiers.

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to become an integral part of our team! You will assist the Store Manager in the operation and management of a Goodwill retail store. You will be responsible for performing cashier and processing duties in all retail areas of the store, opening and/or closing the store and completing corresponding paperwork.

Position Type: Full-Time

Wages: $21.26 hourly

Responsibilities:

• Assume full store responsibility in store manager’s absence; including but not limited to directing the activities of all personnel, ensure that sales transactions are rung up and reported accurately and ensure that donated goods are processed appropriately.
• Maintain all store records in absence of store manager
• Ensure that retail store is adequately stocked at all times and is displayed in a professional manner
• Set, display, and evaluate a high level of Customer Service
• Inspect produced materials for quality and accurate pricing
• Provide training and evaluation of new retail employees
• Provide support for store manager during store meetings, disciplinary actions, etc.
• Assist customers and donors in a timely and courteous manner
• Aid cashiers in correcting errors
• Accept or refuse donated merchandise per store guidelines
• Sort, hand, and price donated merchandise for sale in store
• Responsible for opening/closing store; handling cash and electronic transactions; opening and closing cash registers; ensure the security of all monies and that all deposits are made in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate/GED preferred but not required.
