Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) Austin seeks a Storage & Virtualization Engineer to provide L2 technical and incident-management support for storage, virtualization, and compute dependencies.

This offshore role escalates complex incidents, improves reliability, and drives automation and SOP development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on Linux, storage, and virtualization expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and experience in building observability with telemetry and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in CS/IT/Engineering.
• Experience with storage and virtualization in enterprise data centers.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• Automation via Python, shell, or Ansible is required.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 incident management for storage, virtualization, and compute services.
• Own investigations from L1 to remediation and closure.
• Improve reliability, availability, and observability of storage/VM infra.
• Create SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams during incidents.
