Job summary

Wyoming is seeking a Natural Resources Program Principal in the Storage Tank Program to oversee remediation projects, approve engineering designs, and coordinate construction and maintenance of remediation systems. The role requires responding to information requests and ensuring compliance across multiple programs, with the successful candidate living within commuting distance to Lander, WY.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in the Sciences or related field required.
• 1-2 years of progressive work experience in the sciences; higher substitution possible with 4-6 years in the sciences.
• Knowledge of environmental laws, rules, and regulations.
• Familiarity with underground/above-ground storage tanks and RCRA Subtitle I.

Responsibilities

• Review consultant submittals and plans; assist in developing remedies.
• Analyze environmental data for site characterization and risk assessment.
• Answer technical questions on policies and regulations.
• Prepare site descriptions and participate in consultant selection.
• Oversee consultants and contractors on remediation projects to protect health and the environment.
• Perform performance appraisals for consultants and contractors.
• Negotiate scope of work and costs for contracts and amendments.
• Coordinate with local, state, tribal, and federal officials and stakeholders.
