Job summary

The State of Wyoming's Department of Environmental Quality seeks a professional to support Hazardous Waste Permitting and Corrective Action, VRP, BFAP, and OSRP programs. The role includes policymaking support and site management responsibilities in Cheyenne.

Based in Cheyenne, you will engage in audits, reports review, and stakeholder coordination while assisting with rulemaking and risk assessments to protect Wyoming's environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in the sciences; 0–3 years in related field, or 4–6 years with the Natual Resources Specialist level experience.
• Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Manages multiple complex investigation and remediation projects in HWPCA, VRP, BFAP and OSRP.
• Develops environmental compliance assessment audits and writes detailed reports.
• Identifies compliance issues with agencies and stakeholders.
• Reviews environmental reports and data to make technical recommendations.
• Reviews technical data including land, water, and property information.
• Assists in rulemaking and authorization for hazardous waste rules.
• Conducts modeling of pollutant transport and evaluates risk assessments.
