This role requires strong experience in distributed systems, database technologies, and programming languages such as Go or Rust. The position is based in San Mateo, CA with an annual salary range of $153,120—$196,750 USD, plus equity compensation.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in designing scalable systems handling millions of requests.
• Experience with data management technologies is a plus.
• 1-3 years of hands-on experience required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with teams to define data security for Roblox storage systems.
• Design and implement storage infrastructure.
• Improve and scale large distributed services.
• Automate development, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate on project work plans and metrics.
• Ensure high-quality reusable code and keep site reliability.

Skills

Designing large-scale distributed systems

Data management knowledge (RDBMS, Caching, etc.)

Building deployment pipelines
