Job summary

Samsung Semiconductor seeks an industry-leading storage expert to drive the enterprise and datacenter roadmap, focusing on NVMe, NVMe-oF, and OCP Storage projects. The role bridges Samsung R&D with hyperscalers, aligning memory and SSD solutions to market standards.

Daily onsite in San Jose with travel, reporting to Principal Engineer, R&D Product Development Planning. You will lead technical governance, industry collaboration, and patent development to strengthen Samsung's competitive position.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field; multiple advanced degree pathways listed.
Extensive storage industry experience required, including HDD and NAND/SSD development.
Proven track record in standards bodies, committees, or cross-vendor alliances.

Responsibilities

Draft and review NVMe and OCP specifications and proposals.
Influence storage ecosystem within NVMe, OCP, and SNIA boards.
Translate hyperscaler requirements into actionable product features for Samsung.
Collaborate with internal R&D to align hardware and firmware with standards.
Develop patents for proprietary storage technologies in standardization phases.
Lead collaboration with AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft, Meta and internal teams.
Create whitepapers and customer education materials for ecosystem projects.
