Job summary

Samsung Semiconductor's TED Lab in San Jose is seeking an engineer to develop NVMe SSD functional tests, debug issues with firmware, and expand test coverage across enterprise storage systems. You will collaborate with a global team including customers and OEMs, using Python, Linux, and PCIe expertise to improve reliability.

Strong scripting skills, a background in embedded firmware testing, and clear communication are essential for success in this onsite role at our US headquarters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering; 5+ years’ experience.
• Strong Python, Bash, and Linux shell scripting.
• NVMe/PCIe knowledge or related storage technologies.
• Proficient in Linux and enterprise storage/server systems.
• Hands-on experience with storage test tools (benchmarks, IO stress).
• Experience with embedded software/firmware testing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop black-box functional test coverage and methodologies for NVMe SSDs.
• Debug, triage failures; reproduce problems with FW team; design/run experiments.
• Analyze customer field issues and improve functional test coverage.
• Guide Automation team and integrate test coverage into existing framework.
• Collaborate with US and international customers and OEMs.
