Samsung Semiconductor is seeking an industry‑leading storage expert to drive NVMe/OCP standards and enterprise storage roadmaps. The role bridges Samsung’s internal R&D with external cloud and hyperscale vendors, shaping specifications and product features.

Daily onsite at our San Jose headquarters, you will lead ecosystem efforts, propose specifications, and secure patents while aligning with major cloud providers and industry bodies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field with 10+ years in storage.
• 10+ years direct storage industry experience, including HDD and NAND SSD development.
• Proven track record influencing standards in storage bodies or cross‑vendor alliances.
• Experience designing/storage standardization to meet OCP NVMe SSD specs.

Responsibilities

• Propose, draft, and review NVMe and OCP specs in working groups.
• Lead within the storage ecosystem; hold leadership roles (Committee Chair/Board Member).
• Leverage technical network to accelerate standards adoption for cloud vendors.
• Own technical voting seats; influence NVMe/OCP committees to align standards with Samsung capabilities.
• Identify and draft patents to protect Samsung storage tech IP.
• Translate hyperscaler requirements into actionable features for SSD controllers and firmware.
• Map emerging standards to product requirements for internal R&D teams.
• Collaborate with AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft, Meta on next‑gen storage architectures.
