Job summary
GTN Technical Staffing seeks a Storage Operations Engineer to manage daily operations of enterprise file, block, and object storage for high-performance computing workloads in Dallas, TX. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain multi-petabyte storage environments, coordinating with compute, Linux, and network teams to ensure reliability.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience administering or supporting enterprise storage in production.
- Knowledge of file, block, and object storage concepts.
- Experience with enterprise storage platforms (Dell Isilon/PowerScale, VAST Data, NetApp, HPE, etc.).
- Familiarity with Linux administration and command-line troubleshooting.
- Understanding of storage provisioning, capacity monitoring, and incident resolution.
- Basic networking concepts related to storage connectivity.
- Experience using ticketing systems (JIRA or ServiceNow).
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Support daily operations of enterprise file, block, and object storage platforms.
- Monitor storage availability, performance, capacity, and health.
- Investigate alerts, resolve tickets, and allocate to senior engineers or vendors.
- Perform routine storage administration, provisioning, access management, and configuration tasks.
- Assist with firmware/software updates, patching, and scheduled maintenance.
- Follow change management procedures and maintain operational documentation.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, availability, capacity, and performance issues.
- Work with compute, Linux, and network teams to resolve storage-related problems.
- Identify capacity trends and opportunities to improve reliability.
