Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems in Washington, DC is seeking a Storage Engineer (IPv6 Support) to administer, maintain, and optimize storage resources within an IPv6-enabled environment, ensuring performance, security, and high availability across SAN, NAS, and Direct Attached Storage.

You will configure IPv6 storage communications, monitor health and capacity, and collaborate with customers and peers to resolve issues across the full system engineering life cycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience providing storage solutions engineering support, including storage management, administration, and maintenance of systems like SAN and INAS to ensure high availability and performance.
• Strong knowledge of IPv6 networking, addressing, routing, subnetting, network design, and troubleshooting background highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide overall network engineering support for a broad range of programs, supporting the full system engineering life-cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, test, and implementation.
• Set up and configure storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and Direct Attached Storage.
• Implement and manage backup solutions to ensure data is regularly backed up and perform disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor the performance, capacity, and health of storage systems to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Configure storage technologies to communicate over IPv6 in addition to IPv4.
• Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of data requires an evaluation of various factors.
• Interact with customers and functional peer groups to gain cooperation and maintain work schedules.

Role Overview

The Storage IPv6 Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of storage systems within an IPv6-enabled network environment. This role involves ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of storage resources, as well as managing IPv6 configurations and addressing issues related to both storage systems and IPv6 networks.
