Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an onsite Storage Engineer to join a government consulting firm supporting a mission-critical federal program based in Fort Belvoir, VA. Responsibilities include managing storage infrastructure, collaborating with security teams, and driving capacity planning, upgrades, and automation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise storage environments (SAN/NAS).
• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with replication, snapshots, RAID/configuration, and storage provisioning.
• Experience supporting Linux and/or Windows servers with attached storage.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery technologies and concepts.

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise data storage infrastructure for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams for data protection and storage architecture improvements.
• Investigate and resolve storage-related issues impacting availability and performance.

Responsibilities of the Storage Engineer Includes:

• Manage enterprise data storage infrastructure to ensure system reliability, scalability, and optimal performance
• Partner with infrastructure and security teams to support data protection initiatives and storage architecture improvements
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure issues impacting storage availability, recovery operations, or application performance
• Support lifecycle management activities, including platform enhancements, capacity planning, upgrades, and maintenance efforts
• Identify opportunities to streamline operations through automation and proactive monitoring practices

Qualifications of the Storage Engineer Includes:

• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise-level storage environments and technologies, such as SAN and/or NAS platforms
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Experience with replication, snapshots, storage performance tuning, RAID configuration, storage provisioning, LUN/volume management
• Experience supporting Linux and/or Windows servers with attached storage
• Working knowledge of enterprise backup and recovery technologies and concepts
• Ability to proactively monitor infrastructure health, troubleshoot performance concerns, and implement corrective actions across storage and server platforms
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and hold an active U.S. Government TS/SCI Clearance

Compensation of the Storage Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $130,000 - 140,000 (based on experience)
