Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Storage Engineer to support a long-term DoD program focused on Navy enterprise IT infrastructure, network operations, and cybersecurity support. This on-site role is located in Norfolk, VA and requires hands-on management of Windows/MECM, NetApp ONTAP storage, and Cisco data center networking to drive reliability and modernization.

Responsibilities include patching and software distribution with MECM/SCCM, administering NetApp ONTAP, upgrading Cisco NX-OS

Qualifications

• Manage enterprise Windows patching, software distribution, and compliance reporting using MECM/SCCM
• Administer and maintain NetApp ONTAP storage environments, including firmware, disk, and system upgrades
• Perform software maintenance and image upgrades on Cisco NX-OS data center switches
• Develop automation and scripting solutions using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Ansible
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, troubleshooting, production releases, and compliance initiatives across a distributed enterprise environment

Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Storage Engineer to support a long-term DoD program focused on Navy enterprise IT infrastructure, network operations, and cybersecurity support. This position is 100% onsite in Norfolk, VA. The Storage Engineer will support enterprise infrastructure across Windows/MECM, NetApp storage, and Cisco data center networking while ensuring operational reliability, security compliance, and infrastructure modernization efforts.

Responsibilities of the Storage Engineer include:

• Manage enterprise Windows patching, software distribution, and compliance reporting using MECM/SCCM
• Administer and maintain NetApp ONTAP storage environments, including firmware, disk, and system upgrades
• Perform software maintenance and image upgrades on Cisco NX-OS data center switches
• Develop automation and scripting solutions using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Ansible
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, troubleshooting, production releases, and compliance initiatives across a distributed enterprise environment

Qualifications for the Storage Engineer include:

• 4+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, systems administration, or related IT environments
• Active Secret clearance and active IAT Level II certification
• Hands-on experience with MECM/SCCM, enterprise patch management, and Windows infrastructure
• Experience administering NetApp ONTAP storage and Cisco NX-OS data center environments
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix systems and automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar tools
• Working knowledge of RMF, DISA STIGs, vulnerability management, and enterprise change management processes

Compensation for the Storage Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $95,000 - $100,000 depending on experience
• Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave as required by law, and Holidays
