Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior IT infrastructure engineer in Colorado to analyze software, security, and storage, and to design disaster recovery, data center architectures, and testing procedures. You will collaborate with government stakeholders, validate new solutions, and develop documentation and CONOPS for ongoing operations.

The role emphasizes security compliance, capacity planning, and end-to-end transition support from development to operations, with hands-on hardware/software

Qualifications

Security clearance: Top Secret SCI with polygraph eligibility
DOD 8140 Certification applicable to role
Minimum hands-on IT hardware and software solution design/validation experience
Experience with storage design concepts, provisioning, security, throughput
NCDA certification or equivalent vendor certs (ON TAP) preferred

Responsibilities

Analyze software versions, patches, and upgrades for compliance and timelines
Incorporate physical security of data at rest and in transit into designs and tests
Design disaster recovery plans and backup/archive procedures
Create performance and data-usage reports using office automation apps
Test and facilitate accreditation of new solutions and major upgrades for IATT and ATO
Develop wiring diagrams, SOPs, security docs, and installation procedures
Analyze requirements and system architectures to create infrastructure designs
Collaborate with Operations teams and Government stakeholders to ensure availability and resiliency
Research design characteristics and feasibility studies
Incorporate capacity, performance, and service-level metrics into designs
Produce engineering artifacts, test cases, training materials, and CONOPS
Research new technologies to support CSI and innovation
Use lab facilities for experimentation and validation
Develop test cases and scripts for unit/system tests
Support transfer of solutions to Operations during acceptance testing and early production
Provide advanced troubleshooting for VDI components
Develop and execute IT equipment strategy covering procurement and governance
Deliver end-to-end engineering transition support from development to operations

Job description

Analyze software versions, patches, and upgrades for compliance and implementation timelines
Incorporate physical security of data at rest and in transit into designs, tests, and implementation guidance
Design disaster recovery plans and backup/archive procedures
Create performance and data-usage reports and metrics using office automation applications
Test and facilitate accreditation of new solutions and major upgrades for IATT and ATO
Develop wiring diagrams, boundary diagrams, SOPs, security information, installation and upgrade procedures, and other documentation
Analyze requirements, CONOPS, and system architectures to create infrastructure and data center designs
Collaborate with Operations teams and Government stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure availability, reliability, resiliency, and operability objectives
Research design characteristics and conduct Analyses of Alternatives, feasibility studies, and proofs of concept
Incorporate capacity, performance, and service-level metrics into designs
Produce engineering and design artifacts, test cases, training materials, and supporting documentation, including CONOPS
Research new technologies and capabilities and support CSI and innovation activities
Use Lab facilities for experimentation, technical investigation, and feasibility validation
Develop test cases and scripts for unit and system tests
Support transfer of engineered solutions to Operations teams during acceptance testing, Blue/Green fielding, and early production use
Provide advanced troubleshooting, repair, and optimization for VDI components
Develop and execute IT equipment strategy covering assessment, vendor evaluation, procurement, deployment, governance, compliance, and risk management
Deliver end-to-end engineering transition support from development to operational maintenance

Requirements

Current Top Secret SCI clearance with ability to obtain poly prior to start
DOD 8140 Certification applicable to role, minimum Security+
HS and 12+ years of experience, AA and 10+ years, BS/BA and 8+ years, MS/MA and 6+ years, or PhD and 4+ years
Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience designing, integrating, validating, and implementing IT hardware and software solutions
Experience in storage design concepts/processes related to efficient allocation, provisioning, configuration, security, and throughput
NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) – ONTAP or equivalent OEM vendor certification
Willingness to learn new skills and technologies
Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (desired)
Familiarity with IC ITE services and classified environments (desired)
ITIL 4 Foundation Certification or higher (desired)
