Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an experienced storage specialist to manage and optimize multi-vendor storage environments. The role requires hands-on administration of HP 3PAR, Infinidat, NetApp, and related SAN fabrics, with a focus on uptime, efficiency, and automation.

The candidate should exhibit strong incident management, documentation, and communication skills, and be prepared for on-call shifts and a 24x7 support model as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with storage technologies (HP 3PAR, Infinidat, NetApp).
• Certification in HP 3PAR technology.
• Ability to drive critical issues and communicate over calls.
• Willing to work 24x7 with rotational shifts and on-call as required.
• Identify automation opportunities and service improvement efforts.
• Good scripting knowledge and experience with Linux/Solaris/VMware.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor storage environments including 3PAR, Infinidat, NetApp and related switches.
• Drive issue resolution, risks, and project execution with cross-functional teams.
• Participate in service improvement plans and automation initiatives.
• Configure storage pools, filesystems, NFS/SMB shares, and DR rotations.
• Maintain SAN fabric knowledge (Brocade) and perform capacity/performance tuning.
• Coordinate on-call rotations and communicate status clearly during incidents.

Job description

• Should have 7+ Years of relevant experience on Storage technologies like HP 3PAR, Infinidat, NetApp, Brocade Switches, Management Tools – BNA, OCI, Infinimetrics etc.
• Candidate should be able to quickly understand and resolve issues, mitigate risks and dependencies and the ability to drive projects and resources to completion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and documentation skills.
• Should possess certification in HP 3PAR technology.
• Should be able to drive the critical issues and effectively communicate over the calls.
• Willing to work in 24x7 environment with Rotational Shifts.
• Should be ready to work as On-call as per the requirement.
• Identify and Drive Automation Areas and service improvement efforts.
• Should be having good scripting knowledge.
• Actively participate in service improvement plans.
• Monitoring overall functioning of process and identify improvement areas.
• Should be having good scripting knowledge.
• Should have basic knowledge of Linux / Solaris / VMware etc.

Required Technical Skills – Primary

• - Understanding on Infinidat Storage.
• - Creation of filesystem, NFS,SMB on Infinidat Storage
• - Creation of Multi-Protocol Share drive on infinidat storage.
• - DR Rotation on Infinidat.
• - Migration Experience.

SAN Switches: Brocade, SANNAV

• Excellent hands-on experience on HP 3PAR, Infinidat, StoreOnce and Brocade DCX switches administration, Management Tools – BNA, OCI, Infinimetrics etc.
• Hands-on experience with NetApp C-mode, NAS shares creation, Migration, Metrocluster, configuration, set up, switchover and switchback and snapshots
• Configure and manage storage pools, CPGs, Virtual volumes & snapshots
• Excellent knowledge of LSAN zones and routing
• Perform Capacity and Performance management
• Hands-on experience on Adaptive and Dynamic optimization.
• Develop tiering policies for all hosts and configure as per the standards
• Design & implement SAN connectivity (single & dual chassis) with Fiber channel switches to overcome any single point of failure for all hosts
• Experience in performance tuning of 3PAR system and storage based replication.
• Exposure to DR implementation and management
• Experience in Storage and Fabric microcode upgrade activities
• Excellent knowledge in Configuring SAN Fabric (Brocade 48K & DCX switches) and troubleshooting fabric related events.

Preferred Technical Skills

• Prior experience of working in a DevOps / Agile environment will be an advantage.
• Working knowledge on ITSM tool – JIRA
• Knowledge on Cloud technologies like - Azure or AWS would be an added advantage.
