Job summary

Lumbermen’s, based in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a Stone Fabrication/CNC Operator for the Byron Center facility. The role focuses on fabricating quartz and granite countertops, operating CNC/Saw/Waterjet machines, and ensuring precise output for customer orders.

Responsibilities include layout, cutting, and quality inspection, with a Monday-Thursday 6PM–4AM shift. Eligible for an annual clothing allowance and ESOP benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Prior CNC experience is a plus.
• Hilo operator’s license (will train if needed).
• Prior fabrication or construction experience desired.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to stand for 8-10 hours/day.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and fabricate from CAD templates.

Responsibilities

• Layout and optimize materials for stone fabrication.
• Measure and cut materials using Saw/Waterjet/CNC and polishers.
• Build countertops to customer specifications and ensure quality.
• Inspect quality and stage materials for shipment or installation.

Stone Fabrication/CNC Operator - 3rd Shift

Shift: Monday - Thursday 6PM to 4AM

POSITION SUMMARY

Based out of our Byron Center, MI facility, the Stone Fabrication team fabricates quartz, granite, and other hard surface countertops. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Stone Countertop Fabrication team is responsible for:

• Job layout and optimization of materials
• Properly measuring and cutting materials (includes the use of state-of-the-art Saw/Waterjet machines, CNC machines and polishers)
• Building countertops to customer specifications
• Quality inspection and staging of materials for shipment or installation.
• Preparing and labeling countertops for shipment

CNC Operation

• Locating and running job programs on CNC machine
• Processing customer orders in a timely manner ensuring excellent quality of all products.
• Always maintaining safe work procedures.
• Maintaining the organization, maintenance, and cleanliness of the work area as assigned by the Production Manager

This position offers a $300 annual clothing allowance for uniform, protective footwear, and PPE.

WHO WE NEED:

• Ability to do physical labor including lifting of up to 100 lbs
• Ability to stand for 8-10 hours/day
• Ability to bend, twist, and stoop
