Job summary

Stone Brewing Liberty Station is hiring a Prep Cook in San Diego, CA. You’ll prepare and portion ingredients to support daily service and special events in a fast-paced kitchen.

This tip-eligible role requires 1–2+ years in a high-volume kitchen, a San Diego County Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain one), and the stamina to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Apply and join our team in Liberty Station.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2+ years of experience in a high-volume kitchen or prep role.
• San Diego County Food Handler Card or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Reliable transportation and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, breads, sauces, and stocks.
• Maintain proper food pars, labeling, rotation, and storage.
• Support kitchen line and event teams with consistent, timely prep.
• Follow recipes and kitchen standards to ensure quality and consistency.
• Assist with opening and closing prep duties.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations and equipment.
• Communicate food or equipment concerns to kitchen leadership.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improvement.
