Job summary

Occidental College proudly invites applications for a Stockroom Assistant B in Facilities Management. This non-exempt, full-time role handles receipt and delivery of packages, event setup, and stocking tasks to support campus operations.

Under supervision, you will operate a forklift, coordinate with vendors, and maintain accurate records. A high school diploma, forklift certification, and at least one year of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, and understand directions in English.
• Certification to operate a forklift.
• One year experience in performing work activities as outlined in the position description.
• Valid CA driver’s license; and maintain Occidental College’s authorized driver’s status.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Googledrives/folders/forms or any combination of productivity programs applicable to position responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough; skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems and handling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy.
• Strong commitment to a quality work product. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing and electronically. Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced in the ability to collaborate with a variety of constituencies.

Responsibilities

• 60% - Performs maintenance tasks in support of the stockroom function including, warehouse, shipping and receiving, delivery of packages and supplies to customers. Operates forklift and completes related work assignments as needed. - (Essential)
• 40% - In support of campus events, transport, set-up and breakdown of furnishings and/or equipment. Move office furniture and equipment, as assigned. - (Essential)
