Job summary

Innisfree M&A Incorporated in New York, NY is seeking an Analytical Researcher to join our stock surveillance team and deliver high-impact market insights.

Work with senior analysts to analyze equity markets and stock ownership data, generate research updates and client presentations, and support investor relations initiatives. A finance degree and 1 year experience are preferred, with strong data skills and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Statistics or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year relative work experience.
  • Understanding of the stock market, financial instruments and the investment process.
  • Ability to analyze large, complex and dynamic data sets; strong written and oral business communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Import client shareholder and settlement data.
  • Analyze investor buying and selling activity to support client investor relations initiatives.
  • Analyze settlement activity to derive institutional buyers and sellers of shares.
  • Generate research updates, analytical reports and client presentations.

Analytical Researcher Overview

As Analytical Researcher, you'll work closely with senior Stock Market Analysts to analyze equity markets and client companies’ stock market trading /stock ownership data. You'll support the Stock Market Analyst team to provide in-depth reports explaining stock ownership changes, trading volumes and other market activity. Your advanced data analysis and programming skills will enable you to contribute to insights used by C-Suite executives to make actionable decisions.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Statistics or related field
  • Minimum of 1 year relative work experience
  • Understanding of the stock market, financial instruments and the investment process
  • Understanding of stock valuation methods
  • Ability to analyze large, complex and dynamic data sets
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Self-direction and initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and multiple project team requests
  • Strong written and oral business communications skills
  • Ability to work as a collaborative team member
  • Advanced-level MS Office skills, including PowerPoint and Excel
  • U.S. employment authorization without current or future need for sponsorship
Other helpful background
  • Experience using platforms/languages such as Tableau, VBA, SQL or Python
  • Related internship, industry or academic experience
  • Experience working with financial data from sources such as Bloomberg and FactSet
  • CFA charter or enrollment in CFA program
  • Familiarity with option trading

While the majority of work is done remotely, this is a hybrid position which will require on-site presence, in-person training, and collaboration with other team members on a regular basis. In addition, employees may be asked to attend client meetings, in-person team building exercises, and firm gatherings.

Compensation:

A base salary will be offered commensurate with a candidate’s prior experience and qualifications. Candidate will be eligible for the firm’s annual merit-based bonus program and will participate in its (currently) 100% employer-paid medical/dental/disability/life insurance plans and its discretionary profit-sharing 401(k) plan. Base Salary Range: $95,000-110,000.
