Job summary

The American Red Cross in Columbus, OH is seeking a Stock Inventory Warehouse Assistant to receive, process, and ship blood-product supplies from a central warehouse. You will assist warehouse staff, coordinate with volunteers, and help maintain accurate inventory records.

The role requires basic reading, writing, math skills, a High School diploma, up to one year of related warehouse experience, and possibly forklift certification.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Up to one-year related experience.
  • Warehouse related experience or training, preferably with an automated system.
  • Basic reading, writing, communications, and math skills required.
  • May be required to be certified in forklift operation.
  • Valid driver's license and clean DMV record required.
  • Ability to work on a team.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and ship totes to sites you support.
  • Assist and work with warehouse staff; cross-train for coverage.
  • Coordinate with volunteer partners in kitting operations.
  • Inspect, verify and report discrepancies/damaged materials.
  • Fulfill daily customer orders and prepare transportation documents.
  • Deliver materials to end users/departments; maintain inventory records.
  • Operate PIT equipment such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Data entry in the inventory management system; assist in reconciliation.

In this role you will perform basic receiving and shipping duties to stock and process blood-product supplies; arrange and trouble-shoot delivery logistics to from our blood collection sites.As a Red Cross Team member, you will take care of your team members – show up for every shift and give 100% while you’re there. Interact in a positive, proactive, and customer-focused manner with both internal and external customers, always demonstrating care and compassion*WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD:**Key Responsibilities:** Assist with the receiving and shipment of totes to the sites we support* Assist and work with warehouse staff. Cross-train staff where possible to ensure department coverage* Work with and help coordinate with our volunteer partners who assist in the kitting operation.* Inspect, verify and report discrepancies/damaged of materials and supplies against receiving documents. Store and stack materials to prescribed methods. Fulfill daily customer orders, prepare transportation documents, deliver materials and supplies to end user and/or departments* Operate Power Industrial Trucks (PIT) such as electric pallet jacks and various forklift equipment.* May assist with systemwide electronic computer inventory management system data entry, reporting functions, and with electronic inventory reconciliation process.* Other duties as required**Standard Schedule**: Monday through Friday 8am-5pm**Pay Information**: $18.34 per hour*What you Need to Succeed:** Education: High School or equivalent required.* Experience: Up to one-year related experience. Warehouse related experience or training, preferably with an automated system.* Basic reading, writing, communications, and math skills required. Knowledge of general office procedures and practices is preferred.* May be required to be certified in forklift operation.* Valid driver's license and clean DMV record required.* Ability to work on a team.*Physical Requirements:* Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs frequently; lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 50 lbs. with assistance or the use of a powered industrial truck. Occasionally required to push carts weighing up to 250 pounds on flat flooring or ramps. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and climb ladders or balance.
