Job summary

The American Red Cross in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Stock Warehouse Assistant to support the kitting department by processing supply totes and stocking the kitting area daily to ensure accessibility of blood collection totes.

You will work with warehouse staff and volunteers, inspect incoming materials, and fulfill daily orders while operating pallet jacks and forklifts as needed. A High School diploma and ability to lift 10-50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift operation certification may be required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean DMV record may be required.
  • Ability to work on a team.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and ship totes; stock the kitting area.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff and volunteers.
  • Inspect, verify, and report discrepancies.
  • Operate PITs like pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Process daily customer orders and prepare transport documents.
  • Other duties as required.

Interact in a positive, proactive, and customer-focused manner with both internal and external customers, always demonstrating care and compassionWHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD:Key Responsibilities:Assist with the receiving and shipment of totes to the sites we supportAssist and work with warehouse staff. Cross-train staff where possible to ensure department coverageWork with and help coordinate with our volunteer partners who assist in the kitting operation.Inspect, verify and report discrepancies/damaged of materials and supplies against receiving documents. Store and stack materials to prescribed methods.Fulfill daily customer orders, prepare transportation documents, deliver materials and supplies to end user and/or departmentsOperate Power Industrial Trucks (PIT) such as electric pallet jacks and various forklift equipment.May assist with systemwide electronic computer inventory management system data entry, reporting functions, and with electronic inventory reconciliation process.Other duties as requiredStandard Schedule: Monday -Friday 7:00am-3:30pmPay Information: $16.00 per hourWhat You Need to Succeed:Education: High School or equivalent required.Basic reading, writing, communications, and math skills required. Knowledge of general office procedures and practices is preferred.May be required to be certified in forklift operation.Valid driver's license and clean DMV record may be required.Ability to work on a team.Physical Requirements:Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs frequently; lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 50 lbs. with assistance or the use of a powered industrial truck. Frequently required to push carts weighing up to 250 pounds on flat flooring or ramps. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and climb ladders or balance.
