Job summary

Timbercity Worcester is seeking a diligent stock controller to manage retail stock accuracy. Duties include checking reports, maintaining bin locations, performing stock takes, and validating variances to prevent shrinkage.

You will monitor stock performance, replenish stock, dispatch from distribution centers when required, and provide variance data for the 8-week cycle each month, ensuring stock is properly binned for quick retrieval.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required for baseline literacy and numeracy.
• 3 years stock control experience, or equivalent certificates in retail.
• Experience in loss control, stock replenishment and bin management.

Responsibilities

• Check reports and validate stock variances.
• Maintain bin locations and keep stock up to date.
• Perform regular stock takes and ensure accurate binning.
• Monitor stock performance and provide variance data to operators.
• Provide stock variance data for the 8 weeks cycle each month.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• 3 years stock control experience, alternatively
• Certificate in Retailing (NQF 5), or
• Certificate in Retail Operations Management (NQF 5)
• if no certificate then at least 3 of the following skills programmes
• Explain the factors that impact on the bottom line of a W&R unit
• Supervise implementation of loss control measures
• Replenish stock in a retail business
• Manage stock holding procedure in a wholesale and retail outlet
• Move, pack and maintain stock
• Count stock for a stock-take
• Dispatch stock from a distribution centre
