Job summary

Canal Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Akron, Ohio is seeking a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) for the day shift on a 12-hour schedule (7am-7pm). You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse and assist with activities of daily living.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, infection control, and teamwork with the health care staff. Ohio STNA certification is required; prior long-term care experience is preferred.

About the STNA State Tested Nursing Assistant Role:

• Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Assists with feeding, toileting, and transferring residents as needed
• Monitor and record vital signs, report changes to nursing staff, and document resident care
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and colleagues
• Participate in therapeutic activities, recreation programs, and other events to promote resident engagement and well‑being

STNA State Tested Nursing Assistant Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized care to residents, focusing on their unique needs and preferences
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment, adhering to infection control protocols and facility policies
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members to ensure seamless care transitions
• Attend meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities to stay current with industry best practices and updates
