Job summary

Villa Springfield Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a compassionate State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) to join our care team. In this role you will assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, support personal care, and collaborate with RNs and LPNs to ensure safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• Active STNA certification in the state of Ohio.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) to ensure comfort and dignity.
• Measure and document vital signs (BP, temperature, pulse, resp rate).
• Support personal hygiene and daily care, including oral care and linen changes.
• Assist with mobility and transfers; position to prevent bedsores.
• Monitor patients and report changes to nursing staff.
• Maintain patient safety and follow fall prevention protocols.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
• Collaborate with RNs, LPNs, and other staff on care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Assistance & Comfort: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating, ensuring comfort and dignity.
• Vital Signs Monitoring: Measure and document patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate.
• Personal Care & Hygiene: Support patients in maintaining their personal hygiene, including oral care, changing bed linens, and assisting with bathroom needs.
• Mobility Support: Assist patients with moving, including transfers from bed to wheelchair, walking assistance, and positioning to prevent bedsores.
• Patient Observation: Monitor patients for changes in physical or mental health, reporting any concerns to the nursing staff or Unit Manager.
• Patient Safety: Ensure the safety of patients at all times by observing safety protocols and assisting with fall prevention measures.
• Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, building trust and ensuring they feel heard and valued.
• Collaboration: Work closely with RNs, LPNs, and other healthcare team members to provide optimal care and contribute to patient care plans.
