Alternate Solutions Homecare of Dayton, LLC is seeking a Home Health Aide I to join our team. Under supervision of a RN or supervisor, you will provide compassionate support with activities of daily living and basic personal care, ensuring a safe, comfortable living environment for clients in their homes.

The role emphasizes effective communication with patients and families, adherence to care plans, and teamwork with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains good relationships with patient, family, and staff
  • Ensures living environment is healthy and safe
  • Reports changes to patient’s medical and living conditions to supervisor or case manager
  • Completes documentation appropriately and timely

SUMMARY The Home Health Aide I (HHA) is an essential member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Supervising Therapist. The HHA I provides compassionate support with activities of daily living and basic personal care needs while ensuring a safe, comfortable living environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs personal care including but not limited to bathing, grooming, skin care, toileting, and oral hygiene
  • Cleaning up supplies and service area after personal care has been provided
  • Assists patients as needed with lifting and transferring
  • Performs simple exercises as an extension of therapy services such as ambulation and range of motion
  • Maintains good relationships with the patient, the patient’s family, and staff
  • Ensures the living environment is healthy and safe
  • Reports any changes to the patient’s medical and living conditions to the supervisor or the case manager
  • Completes documentation appropriately and timely
QUALIFICATIONS
  • One year of experience as a nurse aide in a hospital, nursing home, home care agency, or a private setting under the direct supervision of a RN, which can be verified.
  • Completion of skills competency test with 80% or higher score.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and create positive impressions with patients, families, physicians and co-workers.
  • Ability to remain calm, have patience and be accommodating.
  • Compassionate and caring while working with patients.
  • Ability to follow directions and work as a team member.
  • Must be observant and detail oriented.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance with your name as a listed driver.
EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) or 75-hour nurse aide training (CNA).
