Job summary

The Laurels of Athens is seeking a State Tested Nursing Assistant to care for residents under the supervision of licensed staff. You will assist with bathing, grooming, feeding, mobility, and daily living activities, while maintaining a safe, compassionate environment aligned with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include documenting observations, monitoring vital signs, supporting residents’ independence, and providing emotional support.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate/GED required.
• Must be a State Tested Nursing Assistant in good standing or graduate of a state approved program with competency exam.
• Computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output as directed.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics.
• Respond to call lights and resident needs; report observations to licensed staff.
• Support residents’ independence while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate documentation according to facility procedures.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines at all times.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Cares for residents with dementia and supports behavior management.
• Perform non-resident care tasks such as cleaning and maintaining unit areas.
