Job summary

Bristol Hospice - Ohio LLC is seeking experienced STNAs to deliver compassionate personal care to hospice patients in their homes. You will work under a RN, performing tasks from baths to mobility, while documenting care and maintaining patient comfort.

Ideal candidates are state-tested nurse aides with CPR certification, reliable transportation, and strong communication skills to support patients and families through end-of-life care.

Qualifications

  • Must be a State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA).
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to follow care plans and communicate with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and assist with daily activities as assigned.
  • Assist in dressing, bathing, feeding, and mobility support.
  • Monitor patient's condition and report changes to Case Manager.
  • Support family with care techniques and maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain clean, safe living environment and document care provided.

We are looking for compassionate STAs who have a heart for patients and families.The State Tested Nurse Aide plays a critical role as a member of the Interdisciplinary Group Team. For more information about Bristol Hospice, visit bristolhospice.com or follow us on LinkedIn.Our CultureOur culture is cultivated using the following values:Integrity: We are honest and professional.Trust: We count on each other.Excellence: We strive to always do our best and look for ways to improve and excel.Accountability: We accept responsibility for our actions, attitudes, and mistakes.Mutual Respect: We treat others the way we want to be treated.On an Average Day You Will:(includes but not limited to)Perform personal care needs after given a patient's assignment and attend to his/her requests promptly; if unable to perform a certain task, report to the Case Manager immediatelyProvide patient and family with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentialityMeet safety needs of patient and use equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2 etc.)Provide personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen as often as assignedAssist in dressing and undressing patients, as assignedPlan and prepare nutritious meals, including shopping, as assignedAssist in feeding the patient, as assignedTake and record oral, rectal and auxiliary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competencyProvide proper care and observation of patient's skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominenceAssess and report on patient's condition and significant changes to the Case Manager; also, being aware of the caregiver or other individuals living with the patient and interpersonal issuesAssist in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapistProvide normal range of motion and transfers/positioning, as directedAssist with self-administered medications as allowed by state regulations, such as “reminders”Offer and assist with bedpan and urinal aid, as assignedAid with light laundry needs if necessaryPerform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service, as ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competencyProvide respite for patient's family/caregiver when on-site, as appropriateMaintain patient's living area is clean and orderly, as assignedAdhere to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conductParticipate in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activitiesRespect patient and family/caregiver environment and patient's personal needsAll other duties as assignedRequirements:Must be a State Tested Nurse AidePreferred to have one (1) year experience in community health/hospice or medical/surgical environmentsMust have completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical trainingLicensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with organization/state requirements and is in good working orderWillingness to submit to a criminal background check prior to hire and annually thereafterCurrent CPR certificationOur Ideal Candidate Has the Following Skills and Knowledge:Ability to read and follow written instructionsAn Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally illAbility to work autonomously with little direct supervisionSuccessfully demonstrate tact, patience and good personal hygieneAbility to communicate effectivelyStrong organizational skillsUnderstanding of plan of care documentationFlexible in work hours to ensure the patients receive care as provided in the plan of careAbility to empathize with the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impairedComfortable addressing issues of death/dyingCalm demeanor when entering the patients homeWe Got the Perks:Tuition ReimbursementPTO and Paid HolidaysMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and moreHSA & 401(k) availableMileage Reimbursement for applicable positionsAdvanced training programsPassionate company culture committed to the highest standard of care in the hospice industryJoin a Team that embraces the reverence of life!EEOC StatementBristol Hospice is an equal-opportunity employer.
