Job summary

Bristol Hospice is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our patient-centered team in Centreville, VA. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing essential personal care and comfort to patients in their homes, while maintaining confidentiality and dignity.

Ideal candidates have a CNA, CPR certification, and preferably one year of hospice or medical/surgical experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Prefer 1 year of community health/hospice or medical/surgical experience
• Minimum 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training
• Licensed driver with insured vehicle in good working order
• Willingness to submit to a criminal background check
• Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including baths, grooming, oral hygiene, and linen changes.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and activities of daily living as assigned.
• Support patient and family with communication and confidentiality within ethical care.
• Take and record basic vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) as ordered.
• Provide meal assistance and support with feeding as assigned.
• Ensure safety, proper equipment use, and observation of skin integrity.
• Maintain clean, safe living areas and report significant changes to the Case Manager.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and adhere to care procedures.
