Job summary

Spherion Staffing, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Brake Press Machine Operator to join our production team in New Albany, IN. You will execute tooling setup and changeovers, operate brake press equipment to form precise metal parts, and perform visual quality inspections against strict specifications.

The role requires reading a tape measure and protractor, standing for long periods, and adhering to safety protocols in a fast-paced environment. Overtime and weekend availability may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Assist in other departments as needed.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Brake Press Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will execute tooling setup and changeovers, operate brake press equipment to form precise metal parts, and perform visual quality inspections against strict specifications. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, works well independently or alongside team members, and maintains a clean, safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• The Brake Press Machine Operator is a key member of the production team and is responsible for conducting changeovers to different angles and sizes to ensure parts are formed according to specifications.
• Checking and visually inspecting produced parts against specifications to ensure defect‑free products
• Installing dies during tooling changes and adjusting equipment to specifications
• Entering production quantities for each order into the computer system
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Assisting in other departments as needed

Working hours: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Skills

• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others

Qualifications

• Ability to read, hear, communicate, operate lift trucks, wear required PPE, and repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for approximately 7.5 hours per work shift
• Ability to work in varying temperatures during the winter and summer months
• Work environment has moderate to loud noise levels
• Must be available to work overtime during weekdays and potentially on weekends
