Job description

Steward Supervisor – Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Stewards in maintaining the cleanliness of the back‑of‑house kitchen areas.
• Create a positive and upbeat work environment by interacting with team members.
• Maintain a daily sanitation log for the dish machine and manual pot wash sink.
• Ensure work areas are left ready for the next shift and communicate any items that are not ready.
• Lead Green initiatives by properly recycling all cardboard using the compactor.
• Be energy conscious: turn off lights when not in use, keep water faucets shut, and report any leaks to a supervisor.
• Serve as a key safety player by monitoring high‑traffic areas to prevent accidents, slips, trips, and falls.
• Use proper dish and glass racks to prevent chip, crack, or breakage of small wares.
• Use time wisely and proactively clean and sanitize all equipment during slow periods.
• Learn different tasks within the kitchen and develop new skills as needed.
• Assist in other areas when business levels dictate.
• Provide a genuine level of engagement with all guests and crew members with a sincere smile.

Steward Supervisor – Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Steward.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Engaging and pleasant personality with a love for meeting new people.
• Strong time‑management skills to accomplish tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Physical ability to move, traverse, and position oneself to reach corners, detect odors, and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces.
• Comfortable lifting, carrying, and positioning loads of at least 25 lbs.
• Proficiency with equipment such as spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads, and dusters.
