Job summary

The Lodge and Retreat at Sea Island seeks a hands-on supervisor to oversee all kitchen sanitation and stewarding operations, upholding Sea Island’s legacy of warm hospitality. You will lead a team, ensure policy compliance, and promote a safe, efficient work environment during events.

Responsibilities include scheduling, inventory management, coaching direct reports, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest service while building guest familiarity with Sea Island offerings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare schedule (including vacation schedule) for stewarding department at the Lodge and Retreat
• Take inventory and orders along with issue cleaning supplies to stewarding department
• Guide, coach, counsel, develop, and inspire direct reports in a leadership role which promotes teamwork, communication and maximum productivity
• Develop and administer procedures for maintaining inventories of china, silverware and glassware
• Generally responsible for all the kitchen(s) sanitation at The Lodge and Retreat
• Properly clean and store all china, silver, utensils, pots, pans, serving ware and other equipment
• Perform sanitation duties such as mopping floors, cleaning work surfaces, empty trash containers, sweeping floors, etc.
• Maintain equipment in a professional manner and maintain a clean, safe and efficient work station
• Report equipment break downs and safety concerns to supervisor
• Ensure that equipment is set up prior to the event based on the standard set for having receptions or buffets set up
• Maintain equipment in a professional manner and maintain a clean, safe and efficient work station
• Learn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and Members
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s ability
• If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)
• Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
• Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
• Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
• Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
• Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
• Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership
