Job summary

The Chatham Inn, Cape Cod’s only Relais & Château and Forbes Five-Star hotel, is seeking a dependable steward to clean and maintain dishwashing areas, assist in the kitchen, and ensure sanitation standards are met.

You will communicate in English with guests and team, handle waste and recycling properly, and report maintenance needs to a supervisor. Prior experience preferred; benefits include health insurance and retirement options.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing machines and manually wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including floors, walls, workstations, and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness in trash disposal areas and waste/recyclables.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Safely operate and maintain dishwashing equipment.
• Report malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.

Hiring Bonus Available:

$500 paid out in three (3) installments - $200 at 30 days of employment; $150 at 60 days of employment; and $150 at 90 days of employment. Please note: This hiring bonus is subject to all withholdings and deductions as required by law.

A day in the life...

The steward is to clean and maintain equipment and areas such as Dishwashing/ Kitchen/ Cafeteria/ Compactor and Storage according to hotel specifications and standards. Wash pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils and equipment. Assign other cleaning projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate dishwashing machines and manually wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including floors, walls, workstations, and equipment.
• Ensure all areas are free from debris and hazards.
• Properly dispose of waste and recyclables.
• Maintain cleanliness in trash disposal areas.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Safely operate and maintain dishwashing equipment.
• Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
