Job summary

Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle is seeking a Full Time Overnight Steward/Dishwasher to support our renowned kitchen operations. You will operate dishwashing equipment, maintain a clean kitchen, and assist with basic food prep during a dynamic overnight shift.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid authorization to work in the USA.
• Previous experience as a steward or dishwasher in a hotel or restaurant is preferred but not required; we will provide training for the right candidate.
• A strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to ensure the prompt cleaning of dishes, cutlery, and kitchen utensils.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work area, including washing floors, walls, and kitchen equipment.
• Assist in basic food preparation tasks as directed by the culinary team.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and food handling standards.
• Empty and clean trash and recycling bins.
• Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies and deliveries.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth flow of dishes during busy service times.
• Assist in various cleaning tasks around the hotel during the evening shift.

Physical Aspects of the Position:

• Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walking
• Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height
• Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 75 lbs
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
• Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
