Job summary

The Halyard at Sound View Greenport is seeking a reliable Dishwasher to join our kitchen team in Greenport, NY. This role supports the culinary staff by cleaning dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment, and by maintaining a clean, organized prep area.

You will follow food safety standards, help keep floors and surfaces sanitary, restock supplies, and assist with basic kitchen cleanup during and after service.

Qualifications

• Reliability and ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Keep the dishwashing area clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout each shift.
• Assist with maintaining overall cleanliness of the kitchen, including floors, work areas, and trash/recycling.
• Support the culinary team with basic kitchen cleaning and organization as needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
• Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Communicate with the culinary team to ensure clean dishes and equipment are available when needed.
• Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining attention to cleanliness and safety.
• Complete opening, closing, and cleaning duties as assigned.
