Job Description

The Kitchen Steward (dishwasher) is responsible for tasks assigned by the Steward Assistant, Executive Steward, Chef De Cuisine, and Sous Chef. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the work station, coordinating materials and equipment, and communicating issues to management.

(These functions are illustrative and not exhaustive.)

• Maintain sanitation levels.
• Perform physical activities including standing, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and reaching overhead throughout the shift.
• Understand and follow product labeling instructions for safe application of cleaning products.
• Maintain inventory of supplies.
• Ensure cleanliness of floors, walls, dishes, and pots.
• Use 'Wet Floor' signs and markers appropriately.
• Ensure kitchen staff have and use proper equipment (gloves, goggles, chemicals, etc.).
• Verify equipment functions properly.
• Conduct oneself professionally, reflecting a positive image.
• Assist in safety training for kitchen staff.
• Train staff on chemical safety and proper usage.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards set by the casino and health department.
• Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• At least one year of kitchen cleaning experience.
• Flexibility to work any day and shift.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to complete Serve Safe training.
• Valid driver’s and gaming license as required.
• Successful background check and drug screening.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Deliver superior guest service in Boyd Style.
