Job summary

Avion Hospitality is seeking a Steward to maintain cleanliness and proper storage of china, glass and silver while upholding high sanitation standards. The role includes assisting kitchen staff with cleanliness of the kitchen and storage areas, and proper food storage practices.

The incumbent will operate dish-washing equipment, ensure items are stored correctly, and support ongoing kitchen duties as needed. Strong attention to detail and ability to work calmly under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations.
• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Operate the dish-washing equipment to ensure china, glass and silver are cleaned thoroughly and sanitation is maintained.
• Replace all clean china; glass and silver in proper storage location, minimizing breakage.
• Wash pots, pans and kitchen utensils following proper cleanliness procedures and sanitation, storing them properly.
• Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and restaurant.
• Empty garbage from Food and Beverage areas into the hotel dumpster and maintain back dock and dumpster area cleanliness.
• Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor or manager.

Job Summary

A Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass and silver, and ensuring the highest standards of sanitation. He/she is also responsible for assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and all storage areas; specifically for cleaning all equipment, utensils, and the physical work area. He/she is also responsible for assisting with proper food storage and rotation.

Education & Experience
