Job summary

DoubleTree Dallas Campbell Centre is seeking a Steward to maintain cleanliness and proper storage of china, glass, and silver, while assisting kitchen staff in keeping the kitchen and storage areas clean. This role supports proper food storage and rotation and requires composure under pressure.

Essential duties include operating dish-washing equipment, replenishing storage, washing pots and utensils, and maintaining back dock areas. A high school diploma or related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of china, glass and silver.
• Able to convey information clearly and work well under pressure.
• Maintain sanitation and proper food storage rotation.

Responsibilities

• Operate the dish-washing equipment to ensure china, glass and silver are cleaned thoroughly and sanitation is maintained.
• Replace all clean china, glass and silver in proper storage locations with care to minimize breakage.
• Wash pots, pans and kitchen utensils following proper procedures for cleanliness and sanitation.
• Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and restaurant.
• Empty garbage from Food and Beverage areas into the hotel dumpster.
• Maintain cleanliness of the back dock and dumpster area.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Job Summary

A Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass and silver, and ensuring the highest standards of sanitation. He/she is also responsible for assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and all storage areas; specifically for cleaning all equipment, utensils, and the physical work area. He/she is also responsible for assisting with proper food storage and rotation.

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations.
• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

Job Duties & Functions

• Maintain friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
