Job summary

Sotera Health in New York, NY seeks an Operator to monitor sterilization systems and ensure safe, efficient production. You will observe pressure, temperature and humidity, adjust controls, and document readings while supporting maintenance and safety initiatives.

The role requires a High School Diploma and 6–12 months of sterilization experience, with the ability to lift 50 pounds and operate a forklift. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6–12 months to 1 year in a sterilization environment preferred.
• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive lifting.
• Must have forklift driving experience.
• Computer skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitors system including observing pressure, temperature and relative humidity measurements.
• Turns valves and adjusts controls to ensure safe operation of equipment.
• Observes sterilizers and auxiliary units to detect malfunctions and assists with repairs.
• Documents and records process readings.
• Reports damaged product to the Shift Supervisor or Process Supervisor.
• Reports system problems to Maintenance personnel.
• Performs daily/weekly maintenance tasks and assists with other tasks as needed.
• Follows safety rules and participates on plant safety committees.
