Job summary

Sotera Health is seeking an Operator for our Illinois plant to coordinate conveyor activities, load/unload tasks, and ensure safe operation under supervision. You will prepare and read dosimeters, assemble run data, and maintain logs and records for downtime and configuration.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 30 days in a sterilization environment, and forklift experience. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and working various shifts in a team setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 30 days of experience working in a sterilization environment and meeting training requirements.
• Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Must be willing to work established shifts.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending and lifting motions over a period of time.
• Must have forklift driving experience.
• Computer skills desired.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant in the absence of the Shift Supervisor and/or Process Supervisor.
• Under the direction of the Process Supervisor: Prepares dosimeters for work orders scheduled to be run.
• Operates and takes readings on the dosimeter reader.
• Assembles processed dosimeters with run data sheet, work orders and load/unload sheets.
• Maintains accurate downtime and system configuration log.
• Records input, dosimeter and unload information in the computer.
• Familiar with and able to perform emergency procedures required by license.
• Reports system problems to the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Technician.
• Knows how to replace designated mechanical components of the system and assists Maintenance as required.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
• SUPERVISION GIVEN: Oversees the work of others.
