Job summary

Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE is seeking a Supervisor Sterile Services to join the Integrated Service Center on the Second Shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM). This full-time role leads the day-to-day operations of the sterile processing team, ensuring efficient, safe and compliant service for the hospital.

You will mentor staff, make priorities, solve complex issues and uphold standards, collaborating with physicians, nurses and other colleagues.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience leading a clinical/sterile processing group.
• Associates degree or an equivalent education/experience combination.
• Knowledge of cleaning, decontaminating and sterilization equipment.
• Knowledge of telecommunication equipment and information systems.
• Knowledge of general patient care supplies.
• Thorough knowledge of sterilization principles and AAMI standards.
• Experience with office equipment and with computer/inventory systems.
• Certification: CBSPD or IAHCSMM within 18 months of employment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong problem-solving and judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift on day-to-day operations and oversee all duties of the designated operation.
• Mentor and train staff on technical skills and workflows; model professional behavior.
• Make decisions on daily priorities and escalate as needed; handle non-routine issues.
• Assist with performance appraisals and disciplinary actions as required.
