Job summary

South Shore Health in Weymouth, MA is seeking a CPD Technical Educator to lead training, orientation and competency assessments for sterile processing staff. You will develop and implement education programs that meet OSHA, AAMI, AORN, and Joint Commission standards to safeguard patient safety.

Responsibilities include policy development, SOP updates, instrument tracking system training, and staff education across age groups.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Minimum Work Experience: 2 years in a teaching position; 2-4 years supervisory/lead in Sterile Processing.
Required Certifications/Licenses: CRCST or CBSPD Technician and valid driver’s license.
Required Additional Knowledge and Abilities: knowledge of surgical instrumentation; sterilization processes; good communication; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement orientation programs for new hires and ongoing education/classes.
Evaluate staff proficiency in disinfection, sterilization, and decontamination through observations and audits.
Ensure OSHA/AAMI/AORN/Joint Commission compliance for patient safety.
Develop and update SOPs based on current standards and tech changes.
Instruct staff on instrument tracking system use and sterilization procedures.
