Job summary

Old Tesson Surgery Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech Trainee to join our team and begin a structured educational pathway with Stepful. Under supervision, you will learn decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments, progressing toward certification as a Sterile Processing Technician.

You will participate in Stepful coursework, support instrument handling processes, and contribute to documentation and infection prevention

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in or eligibility for a Stepful-supported Sterile Processing Technician training program.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

Sterile Processing Tech Trainee at Old Tesson Surgery Center

The Sterile Processing Technician Trainee is an entry-level position designed for individuals pursuing a career in Sterile Processing through a structured educational pathway supported by Stepful. Under supervision, trainees learn decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment while progressing toward certification and employment as a Sterile Processing Technician.

Essential Functions

• Participate in Stepful coursework and competencies
• Assist with instrument decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization preparation, inventory management, storage and distribution of sterile supplies
• Maintain documentation
