Job summary

Oviedo Medical Center is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to play a critical role in protecting patient safety by ensuring instruments and supplies are clean, sterilized, and ready for use in surgical procedures.

You will manage sterilization equipment, prepare customized sets, and maintain accurate records to support infection prevention and efficient operating room workflows. BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of starting, and CRCST or CSPDT certification is required.

Qualifications

• CRCST or CSPDT certification required or in progress.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays to ensure sterility and readiness.
• Manage sterilization equipment and keep accurate records to support patient safety.
• Prepare customized surgical sets and case carts based on daily schedules and procedure needs.
• Manage inventory and supplies in OR storage, working with the surgical team to meet needs and keep operations running smoothly.
• Respond quickly to instrument requests during surgeries and help solve urgent equipment needs.
