Job summary

You will operate washers, sterilizers, and related equipment, maintain instrument counts, and ensure adherence to AORN, AAMI and Joint Commission standards. Requires high school diploma and sterile processing certification; ability to lift 25 pounds and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) or provisional CRCST.
• Annual continuing education credits required to maintain certification.
• Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• English communication skills required (verbal/written).

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, reassembles and packages sterile supplies per specifications.
• Uses appropriate sterilization methods per instrument type.
• Operates washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers.
• Maintains instrument counts and adheres to storage guidelines.
• Follows safety protocols and documents daily activities per policies.
• Notifies supervisor of Malfunctions and assists in inventory management.
