Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a dedicated Central Service Technician to support the operating room and sterile processing teams. You will perform decontamination, assembly, sterilization and distribution of instruments under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CST certification within one year of hire, and strong communication and teamwork skills. Qualified applicants must live within driving distance to campus to meet the 45-minute on-call report time

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
One year of instrumentation experience OR completion of a Central Service vocational program with CST certification.
CST certification required within one year of hire.
Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

Decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable instruments and equipment for surgical and other procedures.
Cleaning, packaging and re-processing of reusable surgical equipment, instrumentation and scopes per manufacturer’s guidelines.
Maintaining inventory and storage of processed supplies.
Meeting the needs of the surgical team through support of activities in the sterile core.
