Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the daily reprocessing of instruments for the hospital and affiliate offices in Columbia, SC. You will perform decontamination, cleaning, assembly, packaging and sterilization of instruments and trays.

The role requires case cart preparation, OR supply replenishment, and adherence to regulatory procedures; CBSPD certification within 1 year is required, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification: CBSPD-Technician from IAHCSMM or CBSPD from CSPDT within 1 year.
• Willingness to learn decontamination and sterile processing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Cleans instruments and supplies using approved techniques.
• Prepares instruments and trays for sterilization and wraps correctly.
• Operates steam and Sterrad sterilizers and related equipment.
• Assembles instruments for OR procedures and restocks SPD inventory, returning unused items to proper locations.
