Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our team, ensuring procedural equipment meets the highest safety standards and is ready for use across the enterprise.

Responsibilities include cleaning, sterilizing, and assembling instruments, maintaining inventory, and loading case carts for decontamination. Training and a clear career ladder are offered with certification incentives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CRCST or CBSPD certification or eligibility preferred.
• Certification incentive program offered by MUSC.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory for instrument assembly.
• Clean and decontaminate instrumentation per standards.
• Prepare case carts and load washers/sterilizers as prescribed.
• Operate index/cart washers and ultrasonic cleaners.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and function.
• Stablish proper packaging for instruments.
• Sterilize instruments and trays following policies.
• Run tests on sterilizers and document parameters.
