Job summary

Banner Health in Mesa, AZ seeks an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to ensure sterile surgical instrumentation is ready for procedures. You will decontaminate, assemble, and package instruments, maintaining detailed records and instrument tracking across PeriOp services and related departments.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Mechanical aptitude with ability to break down moving parts and reassemble.
Effective organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide decontamination and sterile processing support for PeriOp Services and hospital departments.
Perform decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterility handling of instruments.
Maintain sterilization logs and quality assurance records.
Interpret surgical schedules and medical terminology to prepare needed instruments and supplies.
Identify instrument ownership and track inventories to ensure readiness.
Operate sterilization equipment and related tools following IFU and policy.
Respond to emergent OR needs and prioritize instrumentation requests.
Maintain a clean, safe environment following infection control protocols.
