Job summary

MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital is hiring a Central Service Technician to support the health care team by cleaning, sterilizing and packaging instruments, maintaining stock, and transporting supplies. The role requires teamwork, adherence to policy, and prioritization of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Shifts are nights (2300-0730) with 1.0 FTE. Prior sterile processing experience and certification are preferred; military training or WA state recognition may suffice.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of Central Service Technician course of study or healthcare organization training; military training may satisfy WA requirement.
• National certification (e.g., CRCST) and/or 1 year of sterile processing experience preferred.
• Central Service Certification or commitment to obtain within one year of hire, as required by location.
• Minimum one year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to the healthcare team by cleaning, sterilizing and packaging instruments.
• Maintains inventory and transports supplies and equipment as directed, under supervision.

Education

High School graduate or equivalent

Central Service Technician course of study

Military training or experience satisfies WA state requirement

Central Service Certification or plan to obtain within 1 year

Minimum 1 year related experience preferred
